Abstract: Objective:The aim of this study was to investigate the fracture resistance of zirconia 4-unit fixed partial dentures (FPDs) framework in the posterior dentition. Methods:A CAD/CAM system was used to prepare zirconia 4-unit FPDs frameworks with different thickness including 0.6 mm and 0.7 mm.All FDPs were anchored by first premolar and second molar crowns to rehabilitate the second premolar and first molar. The prepared FDPs were cemented on the model using a resin cement. All the FDPs were subjected to load until fracture.One-way ANOVA was used to analyze the data. Results:There was no significant difference among the fracture resistance of group 0.6 mm(1070.5±139.3)N and group 0.7 mm(1217.3±120.5)N (P>0.05).Conclusions:The fracture resistance of zirconia 4-unit FPDs framework in the posterior dentition can be reliable.
