Abstract: Early orthodontic intervention in pediatric dentistry also has showed a rapid development and achieved a major breakthrough. The dentists use all kinds of methods, including preventing the occurrence of malocclusion and blocking progress of malocclusion and other measures, to create a healthy oral environment and reduce the difficulty of comprehensive orthodontic treatment in permanent dentition. We believe that the application of occlusive guidance and functional treatment in early orthodontic intervention of preadolescent malocclusions can achieve good maxillofacial development and occlusal construction, so as to promote physical and mental healthy development of children. This study reviewed the development and clinical application of occlusive guidance and functional treatment, combined with the causes of malocclusion and the characteristics of preadolescent growth, in order to provide guidance for early orthodontic intervention of preadolescent malocclusion.
