Abstract: Abstract: Accelerating tooth movement, within the physiological range, can reduce the period of orthodontic treatment, thereby reducing the risks of caries, root resorption, periodontal diseases, etc. Currently, there are various modalities to accelerate tooth movement which can be categorized as follows: surgery, physiotherapy, drugs and gene therapy. The rate of tooth movement depends on the remodeling rate of tissues surrounding the roots. Throughout the clinical and experimental methods now in use, they all act on one of the links in periodontal bone remodeling. This review summarizes the molecular mechanisms of these methods.
