Recent advances in the role of HOX genes in oral squamous cell carcinoma

摘要: 同源盒(HOX)基因家族是一类在发育生物学中高度保守的转录因子,通过调控胚胎发育、器官形成等生物学过程发挥关键作用。近年来,研究表明HOX基因的异常表达与口腔鳞状细胞癌(OSCC)的发生、发展密切相关,使其成为OSCC研究领域的重要分子靶点。本文综述了HOX基因在OSCC中的研究进展,重点分析了HOX基因在肿瘤发生中的关键作用机制,并探讨了HOX基因的靶向干预策略。

Abstract: The homeobox (HOX) gene family comprises a highly conserved group of transcription factors that play a pivotal role in biological processes such as embryonic development and organ formation. Recent studies have demonstrated that aberrant expression of HOX genes is closely associated with the initiation and progression of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), making them important molecular targets in OSCC research. This review summarizes the research progress on HOX genes in OSCC, with a focus on their key mechanistic roles in tumorigenesis. Furthermore, we discuss the potential of HOX genebased targeted therapeutic strategies.
